"The power blows." Max said to his camera. The two began franticly searching for loose change or anything to help with the rent situation. "How do you document real life, when real life is getting more like fiction each day." Max said. "Breadlines, headlines, blow my mind, and now this deadline, eviction or pay. RENT!" Max gripped the ends of his hair in frusteration.

"How do you write a song when the chords sound wrong, and they weren't sounding right and rare. When the notes are sour, where is the power, you had to ignite the air?" Michael tore flyers and posters of himself from the wall.

"And we're hungrey and frozen."

"Some lifes that we have chosen!"

"How we gonna pay last years rent?" They both fretted.

"We light candles!" Max resolved.

"How do you start a fire when there's nothing to burn and it feels like something's stuck in your flu."

"How can you generate heat when you can feel your feet and your turning blue? Light up a mean blaze-"

"With posters." Michael chucked his flyers.

"And screenplays." Max threw some of his scripts away.

"How we gonna pay last years Rent?"

Liz parker sat in the performance space with the equipment. She cursed as it sparked. She pulled out her cell phone. It rang and rang. The machine picked up. "Don't screen Tess, it's me, Liz, you're subsitute production manager, hey, hey, hey! Did you eat? Don't change the subject Tess..........But darling, you haven't eaten all day. You won't throw up? You won't throw up!............The digital delay..........Well, it didn't blow up exactly........There may have been one tinie tiny spark. YOU'RE NOT CALLING MAX!"

Alex weakly limped along the street. "How do you stay on your feet, when on every street it's trick or treat, and tonight it's trick! Oh, welcome back to town, I should lie down. Everything's brown, and OH! I feel sick!"

Brody talked to his wife Alison on his cell phone. "Alison, baby, you sound sad. I don't believe those two after all I've done. Ever since our wedding I'm dirt, they'll see, I'll help them all out in the long run."

"Tess, I'm not a theater person." Liz said near tears. This just wasn't her day. "I'll never be a theater person!" There was a click. "Tess? Tess? TESS? Hello?"

The phone rang. Max answered. "Hello? Tess? You're equitment won't work?...........OK, OK ALRIGHT I'LL GO!" Max slammed down the phone. He spoke in his camera. "How do you leave the past behind when it keeps finding ways to get to your heart? It reaches way down deep and tears you inside out, 'till you're torn apart. How can you connect in a age where strangers, landlords, lovers, you're own blood cells betray." Michael snatched the camera away.

"We'll use your camera to spar."

"Hey!" He reached for his camera, Michael kept it out of his reach. He went for Michael's guitar. "We'll use your guitar!"

"You know what, we're not going to pay." Michael said. Max caught on and nodded.

"We're not going to pay last years rent."

"This years rent."

"Next years rent."

"We're not goign to pay rent." Both said.

Kyle Valenti sat on a corner. He saw Alex on the floor. "You ok honey?"

"I'm afraid so."

"They get any money?"

"No.......Had none to get." He looked at his torn coat. "But they prolined my coat. WELL YOU MISSED A SLEVE!" He yelled to the muggers who were long gone. Kyle help him to his feet. "Thanks." He said.

"Hell, it's Christmas Eve. I'm Kyle."

"Kyle........." Alex looked at Kyle up and down. "An angel, in the first degree. I'm Alex, Alex Whitman."

"Let's get a band aid for your knee, I'll change. There's a life support at 9:30. Yes, this body provides a comfortable home for the Acuired Immune Dificeny Syndrome."

"As does mine."

"Oh, we'll get along just fine. Get you a coat, have a bite, make a night, I'm flushed."

"But.......My friends are waiting for me."

"You're cute when you blush." Kyle stroaked Alex's cheek. "The more the mary-ho, ho, ho." He smiled. "And I will not take no."
