ARLENE, THE COMPETITIVE TOMBOY

Katherine Heigl is currently the lead female alien in TV's highly-rated series, "Roswell." She has starred in eight feature films, including her memorable star turn in "My Father The Hero" opposite Gerard Depardieu.

Last fall Katherine starred in Universal's "The Bride of Chucky." Prior to that she starred opposite Peter Fonda in the original telefilm "The Tempest" for NBC.

Raised in Connecticut, Katherine got her first taste of the camera lens at the age of nine as a child model. It wasn't long before she graduated to commercial work, which opened the door to auditions for film roles. By the time she was 12, she made her feature debut in "That Night," starring Juliette Lewis. This quickly led to co-starring in Steven Soderbergh's depression-era drama, "King of the Hill."
