Interesting Article On Show From Parents Council

Thanks to Flwrgurl25 for this interesting letter from the PTC

My mom is part of the Parents Television Council and this is what she recently got regarding Roswell:

"Roswell" Becoming More Alien to a Family Audience?

PTC members may recall that when "Roswell" debuted on the WB, the PTC gave it a green light and promoted it as family-friendly. In its second season, Roswell introduced more foul language, more sexual content, and more violence—prompting the PTC to revise its assessment of the series and give it a yellow-light rating. Unfortunately, the October 30 season premiere on UPN indicated that "Roswell" may continue to move further away from its family-friendly roots.

The short opening sequence of the episode shows a man sitting in a stopped car. A woman’s head rises into the frame, clearly suggesting that she had been performing oral sex on the man. The woman gets out of the car to light a cigarette and sees a flash of light. When she approaches the car again, the man’s charred remains are shown.

“Roswell” used to be a show the entire family could watch together, but this kind of graphic content is inappropriate and unnecessary for any age group. Take action and call the advertisers listed below; ask them to stop sponsoring this kind of vulgarity and unnecessary violence.
