Sci Fi's 'Earthsea'
The Sci Fi cable channel has signed a deal for a TV miniseries based on the first three Earthsea novels; A Wizard of Earthsea, Tales of Earthsea and Tombs of Atuan; by Ursula Le Guin.
According to Variety, Lawrence Bender (The Mexican) and Kevin Brown (Roswell) are on board to the produce the project. Currently, a writer is being sought to adapt the three books.

Set in a fantasy world along the lines of Tolkein's Lord of the Rings, the books tell the story of a boy named Sparrowhawk who is a wizard's apprentice. Once the boy learns his true name, he begins his transition into becoming a man even as he must battle evil that may be, in some way, connected to him.
