Courtesy of the UPN Media Site: Press Release UPN ANNOUNCES 2001-2002 PRIMETIME SCHEDULE -- “Buffy” Fans Find Their Favorite Slayer Stays on Tuesdays at 8pm; -- “One on One” Joins the Number One Night on Television for African-Americans -- -- “Enterprise” to Boldly Go Wednesdays at 8pm -- NEW YORK, May 17, 2001 . . . United Paramount Network announced its 2001-2002 primetime schedule today with three new dramas, BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, the hit sensation among young adults, starring Sarah Michelle Gellar; ENTERPRISE, the latest installment in the Star Trek franchise, starring Scott Bakula (“American Beauty,” “Quantum Leap”), which takes fans back to a time before Kirk, Picard, Sisko and Janeway; and ROSWELL, the sci-fi drama exploring the unique relationships between a group of teen-aged aliens and human beings in the infamous desert town of Roswell, New Mexico. Additionally, UPN has added ONE ON ONE, a new comedy starring Kyla Pratt and Flex Alexander about a precocious young girl raised by her playboy single father, to its schedule for the coming fall season. The announcement was made at Madison Square Garden by Tom Nunan, President, Entertainment, UPN. In addition, UPN has ordered STEPHEN KING’S THE DEAD ZONE, starring Anthony Michael Hall, for mid-season. The drama is based on the horror master’s classic novel about a man who awakes from a coma to find that he now possesses the ability to see into people’s lives at the slightest touch. Nunan also announced some of UPN’s specials for the coming year, including THE SOURCE HIP-HOP MUSIC AWARDS 2001, celebrating the best and the brightest in the hip-hop and rap music world; MO'NIQUE’S HOLIDAY HOUSE PARTY, a fresh, comedic take on the holidays in classic Mo'Nique style; IRON CHEF SHOWDOWN IN LAS VEGAS, a culinary competition based on the international franchise, with William Shatner presiding as the “Chairman;” and REBUILD YOUR LIFE, a new reality series in which families are given the opportunity to start over in an exotic location, free from the stress of their day-to-day lives. UPN’s 2001-02 season premiere dates will be announced shortly. Descriptions of new series are listed below:
