Big jump in the Billboard chart this week for Dido's
"No Angel":

This week's top-10 was relatively inert, except for a
10-8 jump for Sade's "Lovers Rock" (Epic) and a 17-9
climb for Dido's "No Angel" (Arista). The latter
album, which has spawned the hit singles "Thank You"
and "Here With Me," debuted at No. 144 on The
Billboard 200 way back on June 3.

Dido's album is #9 on the charts this week! It's up 8 spots from its #17 spot
last week. In the new January 19 issue of Entertainment weekly on page 87,
there is a small article about it above the top 15 albums, Here it is:
'ANGEL AT MY TURNTABLE'
"Acts garnering the most Grammy nominations usually see huge surges after
selections are announced (think Santana last year and Lauryn Hill in '99).
But as a reflection of how spread out this year's nominations were, the top
15 (albums of this week) were nearly nominee-free. In fact, the most notable
leap belonged to Dido, who was unexpectedly shut out of the new-artist and
female- vocalist category. Still, No Angel lept into the top 10 for the first
time; its total, down from 113,000 to 87,000, was enough to boost it eight
spots. The Beatles could also sing "I'm Down"- from 451,000 to 268,000- while
remaining the toppermost of the poppermost. (they were number 1 this week)

Last Friday I saw a feature about Dido on NBC Europe. They asked her about
her start in the business and her brother. They showed Dido shooting the
video to "Here with me". And they also mentioned that Dido's album is gonna
be re-released on January 22.
