St. John lands a deal at Fox TV

Thania St. John, co-executive producer of the WB Network drama "Roswell," has inked an overall development deal with 20th Century Fox Television, which co-produces "Roswell" with Regency TV. The multiyear pact, valued in the mid-seven-figure range, calls for St. John to develop and produce new series projects for the studio. She had been aligned with 20th under a three-year deal that recently expired. "Working with 'Roswell' creator Jason Katims, Thania played a crucial role in the show's creative development throughout its first season," 20th presidents Dana Walden and Gary Newman said. "She has the very rare ability to write both relationship-oriented drama and science fiction, and that has certainly helped to put her on network (writer) wish lists."

Before signing with "Roswell," St. John co-created and executive produced Fox's 1995 sci-fi drama "VR.5" and the 1997 NBC drama "Crisis Center." Her other TV writing credits include "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman," "Life Goes On" and "21 Jump Street." St. John is repped by CAA, manager Tom Smith of Atlas Entertainment and attorney Karl Austin.
