ABC's "French Kiss" Tops Monday Ratings Race

LOS ANGELES (UltimateTV.com) - Overnight Metered Market Ratings for Monday, April 10, 2000

ABC kissed its competition goodbye, thanks to the movie "French Kiss," in Monday metered market ratings (April 10). The Alphabet net led the pack with an 8.4 rating, 13 share (last week 8.2/12). NBC and CBS tied for second, with NBC's "Third Watch" helping it to a 7.7/12 (7.5/11) and CBS' "Everybody Loves Raymond" boosting the Eye to a 7.7/12 (12.0/18) as well . FOX placed fourth, 7.2/11 (7.1/10) assisted by "Ally McBeal." The WB followed at 4.9/7 (3.9/6) and UPN trailed at 3.2/5 (3.3/5).

ABC programmed the Monday night movie "French Kiss," scoring an 8.2/ 12 average (last week's "Picture Perfect," 8.2/12). At 10 p.m., the just-renewed "Once and Again" pulled a 9.0/14 (8.4/12).

"Dateline NBC' kicked NBC's lineup off at 8 p.m., taking a 7.7/12 (7.5/11) for the hour. Maury Povich and " Twenty One" came on at 9 p.m., with the hour-long game show falling from last week to a 7.4/11 (8.0/11). " Third Watch" at 10 p.m. rose from the previous week, generating an 8.2/13 (7.0/10).

CBS led off with a " King of Queens" repeat at 8 p.m., 6.8/11 (6.5/10). Two encore " Everybody Loves Raymond" episodes followed, getting 7.7/11 (5.0/7) at 8:30 p.m. and rising to a 10.2/15 at 9 p.m. " Becker" with Ted Danson at 9:30 p.m. grabbed a 9.3/13. " Falcone," nearing the end of its week-long run and already in danger of cancellation, pulled a 6.2/10 at 10 p.m. (last week, the 9 p.m. NCAA Championship match had a 10.6/16).

FOX ran a repeat of " That '70s Show" at 8 p.m., which pulled a 6.8/11 (7.1/10). At 8:30 p.m., rookie comedy " Titus" sallied forth with a 7.2/11 (8.5/12). At 9 p.m., an " Ally McBeal" repeat with Calista Flockhart scored 7.4/11 (7.2/10).

The WB began the night with a special " 7th Heaven" with the Los Angeles Lakers, which boosted the show to a 5.8/9 (4.7/7) at 8 p.m. It was followed by otherworldly " Roswell," which managed a 4.0/6 (last week's " Buffy the Vampire Slayer," 3.2/9).

At UPN, " Moesha" started off the night at 8 p.m. with 3.7/6 (3.6/6). At 8:30 p.m., " The Parkers" came in with 3.7/6 (3.8/6). " Grown Ups" at 9 p.m. took a 3.0/4 (3.3/5) and " Malcolm & Eddie" kicked in with 2.6/4 (3.0/4) at 9:30 p.m."
