LOS ANGELES (UltimateTV.com) - Jonathan Frakes (``Star Trek: The Next Generation'') returns to "Roswell" in February. Frakes, a producer on the WB's hit teen SF series, appeared in the pilot and now will return for a cameo, playing himself.

Frakes is also teaming up with Dean Devlin, who, with Roland Emmerich, was behind ``Independence Day'' and ``Godzilla.'' For Devlin's Centropolis Entertainment, Frakes is making an SF spoof called ``Steve Was Here,'' about a depressed town that stages a phony alien landing, but gets more than it bargained for. Devlin and Frakes knew each other as actors before Frakes' ``Trek'' days and before Devlin teamed with Emmerich.

Frakes is also set to direct ``Total Recall 2.''
